Obaili Holds Pre-production Technical Seminar for New Insulated cooler bag
Obaili Holds Pre-production Technical Seminar for New Insulated cooler bag – Multi-department Collaboration Overcomes Technical Challenges, Integrating Market and Technology
On August 12, 2025, Obaili organized a pre-production technical seminar for a new insulated cooler bag. Multiple departments including Business, Pattern Room, IE, Cutting, Production Workshop, and Quality Inspection participated, engaging in in-depth discussions on key issues such as customer requirements, technical difficulties, cutting essentials, marking point settings, and mass production processes. The aim was to bridge market demands with production technology, pooling efforts to create products more aligned with market expectations.
Business Department Acts as a Bridge, Connecting Market and Production
At the seminar, the Business Department first shared the customer-confirmed samples and specific requirements. All departments then conducted targeted research based on the confirmed samples and core demands. Since this insulated cooler bag will be sold through supermarket channels, higher standards are required for product quality and appearance details. Additionally, due to its large size, load-bearing performance has become a key focus. Aligning with the product’s characteristics and customer needs, technical departments identified load-bearing capacity and quality stability as core areas for improvement in subsequent process discussions.
Cutting Process Refined to Balance Precision and Adaptability
The Cutting Department, leveraging feedback from the Business Department and material properties, put forward several key process considerations. As the product uses EPE (Expandable Polyethylene) foam for insulation – a material with certain elasticity – strict control over the number of layers and process parameters during cutting is necessary to ensure minimal dimensional errors. This is particularly critical for products targeting supermarket channels.
Regarding whether to set marking points, all departments reached a consensus after discussion. The Pattern Room proposed that marking points should be added to cut pieces to ensure precision in subsequent sewing processes and facilitate the combination of different product specifications.
Optimizing Mass Production Processes to Balance Quality and Efficiency
The Production Workshop, integrating inputs from all departments, further optimized mass production processes. To meet the bag’s load-bearing requirements, more durable shoulder strap plastic fasteners will be used, and backstitching reinforcement will be added during sewing. All products must pass load-bearing vibration tests before mass production. Meanwhile, in-process inspection mechanisms will be strengthened to ensure quality control at every step; the Quality Inspection Department will focus on appearance details to guarantee product presentation meets standards.
Building Consensus and Clarifying Timelines to Lay a Solid Foundation for Mass Production
During the seminar, departments fully communicated technical difficulties and potential issues, clarifying subsequent tasks and timelines: the Pattern Room is required to complete and deliver cardboard with marking points to the Cutting Department within 2 days; the Cutting Department will finish die-making and cutting within 3 days; upon receiving materials, the Production Workshop will first conduct staff training and equipment debugging, trial-produce a pre-production sample for approval, and then launch mass production.
Through multi-department collaboration, Obaili has not only overcome multiple technical challenges for the new insulated cooler bag but also achieved in-depth integration of market demands and production technology, laying a solid foundation for the successful mass production of the product.
